Growing Together Through Joy and Sorrow
A Bible study conference in Ecuador celebrates fellowship across generations, thoughtful study, spiritual encouragement, and the joy of a new baptism.

Returning to Ecuador the first week in July was a tremendous blessing. We had a wonderful time reconnecting with people in our ecclesial community and were reminded once again of the depth and beauty of the relationships that God has allowed us to build over many years.
This year’s Bible study conference brought together brothers and sisters from across Latin America and beyond, including Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Peru, Canada, and England, with about 50 participants.
We focused on fellowship, Bible study, and spiritual encouragement across Latin America and beyond, and included elderly members facing the challenges of aging, highlighting their strong faith and gratitude. It was organized by local Ecuadorian members, emphasizing service, hospitality, and unity.
Adult studies focused on the Book of Job, exploring themes of suffering, friendship, and faithfulness. Children’s classes centered on Jesus’ compassion as depicted in the Gospel of John.
The baptism of Belén Duchi was a highlight of the weekend, symbolizing commitment and the continuation of faith across generations. Her journey and dedication inspired many attendees, since she started attending Sunday School over 25 years ago with extended family members. We have watched her grow from a child into a young woman who has become a source of inspiration and leadership within her own family and within the larger ecclesial community in Quito.
Reflections from participants emphasized a renewed sense of spiritual family, personal growth, and the importance of disconnecting from daily worries to focus on faith, and emphasized the importance of community, support, and spiritual growth across generations.
The Ecuador fellowship weekend was a spiritually enriching event marked by deep intergenerational connections, meaningful study, personal milestones, and a strong sense of community. It served as a reminder of the enduring value of faith, fellowship, and mutual support within the Christadelphian family.
