John Owen’s two-part series uses David’s life and psalms to illuminate Paul’s teaching in Romans, especially sin, grace, justification, and the struggle of faith. He draws connections between David’s repentance, forgiveness, and spiritual mindset and Paul’s message about living by faith, choosing God’s ways, and finding hope in God’s grace through Christ.
Part 1
God, who knows our hearts, knows the spiritual mind-set we have. When we serve Him, we make choices in our lives which put His will before our own.
Part 2
God has given us free will; the question is who will we serve? Self, sin, which leads to death? Or God’s right ways?
