A Call to Preach in Italy
Preaching in Italy brings both challenge and opportunity.

Jesus taught his disciples: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15 NKJV). We believe this teaching is as true today as it was in Jesus’ day. In addition, Paul declares, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14 NKJV).
This calling has motivated us to do whatever we can to proclaim the gospel message in Italy! Mixed with prayer, our focus for the past number of years has been Northern Italy. Italy is a country of over 60 million people and is still reeling from the effects of the institution of the Roman Catholic Church. Church attendance is low, so this has proven to be both a challenge and an exciting opportunity. We are working hard, with our Father, to reach out to the disenchanted populace who have never been exposed to a “more accurate knowledge of the Way” (Acts 24:22 NKJV) and to help them read, “hear,” and “believe” the Bible.
In the Fall of 2025, we continued to pursue our goal of spreading the gospel message using direct contact in both English and Italian. A key means of sharing the gospel message and making contacts is Bible brochures. We spent significant time distributing leaflets to individual households with a stirring Bible message translated into Italian. The preaching handout has six sides of life-saving information and Bible verses. At the end, there is a link to an Italian CBM website—interested persons can access the site to find more information and/or inquire for more direct interaction by sharing their contact details.
During our visit, we spent a week in a city near the Adriatic coast, on Italy’s east coast. Here we held personal Bible discussions with several contacts and worked through a variety of doctrinal questions they presented. One long-term contact and his wife are eager to become Christadelphians! To our great sadness, there is no ecclesia in all of Italy—this makes direct and regular fellowship difficult. However, the CBM has recently been holding annual Bible Schools in Italy. These have been supported by a variety of international Christadelphians, and especially the Esslingen Ecclesia in Germany (approximately 300km from the north Italian border). We are also able to speak personally to contacts by both telephone and WhatsApp while we are in Italy and back home in Canada.
Although our visit to Italy was shorter than usual, our prayers and hope for a small Italian Lightstand to be established have not diminished. Please keep this corner of God’s world in your prayers—pray that the Lord will provide the increase in His Way according to His plans.
